Dr Mark Ziemann earned his PhD at Swinburne University, Victoria in the field of plant molecular genetics. He then completed an eight-year post doctoral position at the Baker Institute and Monash University with Prof Sam El-Osta, using next gen sequencing to study the epigenetics of complex diseases including diabetes, epilepsy and heart disease. 

Currently, Mark is Head of Bioinformatics at Burnet Institute. His research group is focused on computational reproducibility, and the development of datasets and software tools to better understand gene regulation in disease.
